October 2008 - O’Connell Communications and Texas Creative are joining forces
SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 24, 2008) – Matches made in heaven aren’t common place, but Texas Creative’s Jamie Allen and Christopher O’Connell of O’Connell Communications Group knew a good thing when they felt it. After a few years of a peripheral relationship via cross-referrals and consulting, the idea of joining forces seemed like a logical step. “Ultimately, it was the best thing for our clients,” O’Connell says. “And that’s what was most important.” Last month, O’Connell retired his Communications Group shingle and crossed the street as Texas Creative’s new vice president of corporate and strategic branding, joining Chief Operating Officer Allen and founder and CEO Brian Eckhoff in a “true partnership in spirit.” Allen recalls enthusiastically the discussions that preceded the union. “We discovered that our collective goals and core motivation of client satisfaction were the same, yet our vantage points and strengths were different,” Allen says. ”We could learn from each other.” O’Connell didn’t arrive empty-handed. The agency veteran brought his impressive list of brand sensitive retainer business that has already enhanced Texas Creative’s solid client roster. “We have more depth of bench now,” Allen says, “thanks to Chris’ expertise in health care and financial among other areas.” O’Connell says his clients are excited about the transition to this new “blended family” concept, as have those of Texas Creative, primarily because of the deep relationships and trust all share. “The financial services marketing experience and the strong decade-plus-long relationship Chris has enjoyed with Jefferson Bank coupled with Texas Creative’s capabilities made them the right team to keep our brand moving into the future,” says Jefferson Bank’s chairman and CEO, Richard J.
