Texas Creative Takes Home Campaign of the Year

The San Antonio Marketing community gathered for an outstanding night at The DoSeum for the annual 2016 American Marketing Association Marketing Excellence Awards. The MEAs ceremony is a showcase committed to the recognition and celebration of the finest marketing achievements within the industry. At the AMA San Antonio event, Texas Creative received three MEAs as well as the prestigious Campaign of the Year for helping build great brands and bringing creativity and originality to organizations such as Jefferson Bank, Papa John’s Pizza and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

For Ashley Landers, Vice President of Client Services, the awards are an incredible honor. She explains, “We’re all about creating work that creates results. That’s why accolades like the AMA Marketing Excellence Awards are so important and gratifying to receive. They’re based on recognizing campaigns from a holistic standpoint and judge all the various disciplines of our business that combine to create effective marketing.”

The highest scoring entry received the Campaign of the Year award, representing the campaign that was determined most innovative in their tactics to achieve the objectives, and produce measurable results, of the presented challenge. The honor was bestowed upon Texas Creative for Papa John’s Pizza social media campaign.

Principal and Chief Operating Officer, Jamie Allen mentions, “It’s a challenge to envision a campaign that endears a national brand to a local audience. That was our marketing challenge with Papa John’s Pizza. By partnering with the San Antonio Spurs and involving the talents of a local, popular, culturally-relevant artist to create designs for special Spurs pizza boxes, we created a promotion that not only set new sales records but was recognized by the NBA as one of the most successful co-branded campaigns of the year.
