Aramark was the food and beverage provider for the AT&T Center in San Antonio when they approached us to design and produce two bars for use outside the AT&T facility for events before and after the Spurs games. Our concept was to brand them as the Lone Star and Sombrilla ice houses as they would be selling beer, soft drinks and water to thirsty fans. They needed a theme developed, named, and a logo designed that would be portable, built with durable construction, wired for lights and cash register outlets, etc. The solution was a modular design that allowed the bars to be built in two pieces held together with large pins on each side of the bar. The construction was a welded steel frame with retractable wheels. To add character as old roadside icehouses we sought out and acquired authentic barn wood and rusted corrugated tin for the exterior surfaces. The bar surface was stainless steel with holes cut for cash register cord access.
